Constant Atrial Fibrillation?

My 65 year old father was told by his doctor that he is now in constant Atrial Fib.

He sleeps with a c-pap machine, and that seems to help, but recently he has been sleeping more, and has had episodes of falling out of bed.

What does this mean? What should we expect? What’s the next step?

The sleeping more likely isn’t related to the AFib. The falling may mean that he’s more restless while sleeping.

As a general rule, patients in AFib need 2 things : 1) a med to prevent the heart from going too fast, 2) an anticoagulant (Warfarin/Xarelto/Pradaxa) to prevent clots.

Good luck.
